Our culinary and hospitality workshop for High Scardus Trail hosts returned for its second edition, this time taking place in the scenic region of Rugove, Kosovo. Over two days, 20 eager participants from the Prizren Region engaged in enriching culinary experiences, elevating their skills and knowledge to new gastronomic heights.
Marketing should be at the table, but not be the meal
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed chefs, Sokol Prenga from Qendra për Edukim Kulinar, and Lendita Hyseni from Slow Food Dukagjini, whose expertise and passion for food made this workshop truly exceptional. Their guidance and insights into sustainable culinary practices were invaluable to all attendees.
Our gracious hosts, Mustafa and Fetija Nikci, welcomed us at Bujtina Ariu, located in the picturesque village of Reka e Allages within the breathtaking Rugova Gorge. Their warm hospitality and stunning venue provided the perfect setting for our workshop, fostering an atmosphere of learning and collaboration.
The investor approach to marketing
This event was further enriched by the support and collaboration of key partners: Medisa Sagdati from ATRJK, Šerif Aga from Dragash Municipality, and Bekim & Flaka Betiqi from the Tourist Information Center Prizren. Their contributions were instrumental in organizing and executing this successful training session.
The Hostel Training in Rugove was made possible through the generous support of the GIZ North Macedonia SEDRA project, which continues to empower local communities by enhancing their culinary and hospitality skills. This initiative not only aims to improve the quality of services provided along the High Scardus Trail but also promotes sustainable tourism and local economic growth.
"Cooking is an art, but all art requires knowing something about the techniques and materials."
How to get started: A call to action for CMOs
Participants left the workshop with newfound skills and a deeper appreciation for the culinary arts, ready to apply what they learned in their own hostels and communities. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration, continuous learning, and the celebration of local culinary traditions.
